Maybe you have come to this site after receiving a terminal diagnosis. Perhaps you are close to death. Or perhaps you are just curious and want to know more.
We aim to provide you with information and tools so you can educate and equip yourself, your family and the people around you with the means to have a better conversation about death and dying.
Go Gentle Australia was established to help relieve the distress, helplessness and suffering experienced by Australians with incurable or terminal illnesses, their families and carers. We argue for the right of all Australians to have a choice about what happens to them at the end of their lives and not to be forced, when they are at their most vulnerable, into cruel and avoidable suffering.
Someone to talk to
You may face a range of emotions that you have anticipated or you may respond entirely differently: there is no right or wrong. What is important, is that if you feel you need someone to talk to, you reach out.
This section provides links to providers and support groups that may be able to help you.
Some care may be available for free but what if you need more intensive assistance? And what are some of the things you need to do to get your financial affairs in order?
In this section we make some suggestions and provide links to further information.
End of life planning tools
How do you prepare for your end of life? What is an Advanced Care Directive? And what is a Power of Attorney?
This section deals with starting a conversation about Death and Dying.
