On the panel:

Dr Carolyn Lawlor-Smith OAM
Carolyn has worked as a GP in Adelaide for over 40 years and was instrumental in the passage of VAD laws in South Australia. One of the first South Australian doctors to be trained in VAD, she travels all over the state to provide VAD care and was recently awarded an OAM for her services to the community.

Sarah Gilbert
Sarah and her brothers accompanied their father to Switzerland to access an assisted death in 2021 before VAD was legal in South Australia. Sarah says helping her dad, David, who had Motor Neurone Disease, achieve his final wish meant the world: "We spent the most special last few days together. He got to choose to leave with dignity, the way he wanted to."

Mitchell Warnock
Mitch's terminally ill mum, Jan, chose VAD in Queensland in 2023, aged 68. Knowing how many people loved her, Mitch encouraged Jan to throw one last party - a living wake. "It was such a fun night, a great send off, and that's what Jan wanted."
