Leave us a gift in your will
Your will reflects who you are and what you value in life. Leaving a gift in your will (also known as a bequest or legacy) is a powerful way to sustain the work of Go Gentle Australia and ensure choice for those you leave behind.
Go Gentle Australia's work has ensured voluntary assisted dying laws have now passed in every state. However, there is still much to do to guarantee end-of-life choice and autonomy for future generations.
With support of people like you, we will:
- Pass, defend and improve voluntary assisted dying laws
- Ensure access to quality voluntary assisted dying support and services
- Remove stigma and establish voluntary assisted dying as a respected end-of-life choice.
The correct wording when leaving a gift in a will
If you wish to make a bequest to Go Gentle Australia, it is important to include the correct wording in your will:
I give to Go Gentle Australia (ABN 61 613 668 643):
• The rest and residue of my Estate or
• percent of my Estate or
• percent of the residue of my Estate or
• The sum of $ free of all duties and testamentary expenses for its general purposes and I direct that the receipt of that organisation shall be sufficient discharge to my executors for this bequest.
Legal Consideration
While you can write your own will, we strongly advise you to engage a legal professional who can ensure all details and considerations have been taken into account. This is especially the case if you wish to consider an endowment. You can find a solicitor through The Law Society in your State or Territory.
Please let us know!

Help safeguard choice for generations to come
My father Kit died an unnecessarily painful death from heart failure. I loved my Dad, he chose to live a good life and I wish he had the option to die a good death.
If you believe, as I do, that it's the right and loving thing to have choice at the end of life, then please include Go Gentle Australia in your will. Your gift will give future Australians the comfort of knowing they can choose to go gently. Thank you.
