Voluntary Assisted Dying NSWThe NSW Voluntary Assisted Dying Bill 2021, introduced by independent MP Alex Greenwich, is currently before NSW Parliament. In November 2021, the bill passed the Lower House by 52 votes to 32. Now, it must also pass the Upper House chamber to become law in NSW. In February 2022, the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Law and Justice released their report on the provisions of the bill, recommending the Legislative Council (Upper House) consider the bill. Thank you to all of you who took the time to send your own submissions and speak at the hearings. You can read more about the inquiry here and read the Committee's final report here. Victoria, WA, Tasmania, SA and Queensland have already passed compassionate voluntary assisted dying laws. Will you help us get this law over the line in NSW? |
