Call for abstracts CLOSES SOON

 

Go Gentle and VADANZ are proud to have partnered with QUT's Australian Centre for Health Law Research to bring a greater research focus to this year's trans-Tasman Voluntary Assisted Dying Conference 2024. 

We invite health professionals, providers, policymakers and researchers working in voluntary assisted dying (VAD) to submit an abstract for presentation at the 2024 conference.

The theme for this year’s conference is Access and Equity and we invite abstracts focused on these areas.

The offered format is 10 minute oral presentations.

If you have an area of interest or presentation format not listed above, we encourage you to submit an abstract and make the case for your preferred topic or format in your application. This will be considered by the Scientific Committee.

Depending on the number of submissions, other formats may subsequently be offered.

The deadline to submit your abstracts has been extended until 9 June 2024. The Scientific Committee will review abstracts and we will contact you if successful.

 

 

To submit, you will need to provide:

- A working title (10 words max)

- An abstract (structured or unstructured) or research summary (200 words)

- Your contact details

FAQS

 

I want to present at the conference but haven't completed any research
That's OK. We encourage you to pitch your idea anyway as there will be other opportunities for presentations during the two day conference. You can use the same 'Submit an Abstract' form above.
What if my work doesn't fall into the themes of 'Access' or 'Equity'?
That's OK too. We have kept the Call for Abstracts intentionally open to encourage as many as people as possible, with diverse fields of expertise and ideas, to submit. While we have selected broad themes, we're open to suggestions if compelling.
When will I find out if I have secured a speaking slot?
Submissions close on 9 June. Your submissions will be reviewed over the coming weeks and we will be in touch with you if you are successful.
If I'm a speaker, do I still need to buy a ticket?
Yes, conference registration is a condition of accepting the offer to present at VADCON24. All presenters must register and pay by 30 September 2024 to obtain the discounted Presenter rate.
